Length of stay in a crisis stabilization setting is determined by clinical needs, safety considerations, response to intervention, and the next appropriate level of care. The goal is to provide enough support for assessment and stabilization before discharge, residential treatment, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient care, or another recommended resource.
